Celebrities, Athletes, VIPs Pick Giants to Win
Feb. 4, 2012 / INDIANAPOLIS / PRNewswire

INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- It's anyone's guess who will win the game on Sunday, but among celebrities, athletes and other VIPs attending tonight's NFL Alumni Association Player of the Year Awards in Indianapolis the choice was clear - it's the New York Giants all the way!

Some of the greatest players in NFL history and the biggest names in Hollywood attended the awards gala this evening to celebrate the start of the biggest weekend in sports. And as they walked the red carpet at the Scottish Rite Theater in Indianapolis, they were invited to make their prediction as to which team they thought would deliver a "Simply Perfect" win on Sunday. At the end of the evening, the unscientific poll revealed that 62 percent of people have high hopes for the Giants, and 38 percent think the win will go to the Patriots.

The 30th annual gala, in which NFL legends and celebrities gathered to honor the football stars of today saw the likes of Alec Baldwin, Vivica A. Fox, and Nick Lachey vote on an electronic scoreboard created by event sponsor Patron tequila.

"With two dominating teams like the Patriots and Giants, we knew just about everyone would have a strong opinion on which team is going to pull out the win," said Pam Dzierzanowski, Patron's national events director. "Having our interactive Patron scoreboard on the red carpet generated some spirited and very passionate debates among players and fans."

The red carpet and awards dinner weren't the only excitement of the evening. Throughout the event, guests enjoyed signature Patron tequila, Patron XO Cafe coffee liqueur and Ultimat vodka cocktails created specifically for the weekend's festivities.

"The NFL Alumni Player of the Year Awards is always one of the must-attend events of this big annual weekend, and having Patron involved as a sponsor not only allows an opportunity to treat our guests to some delicious and high-quality cocktails, but also have some fun and create a memorable experience," added Christy Hechler, Director of Special Events & Travel at the NFL Alumni Association. "We can't wait to see on Sunday if our red carpet survey holds true!"

The NFL Alumni Association is a 501(c)(5) organization that serves as a passionate advocate for greater quality of life benefits for all former NFL players. The Association eagerly pursues greater benefits and the implementation of programmatic services devoted to enhancing the health and productive acuity of retired NFL players and their families.
