Frontiers North Adventures Provides Best Access in the World to Wild Polar Bears
May 15 / WINNIPEG, Canada / PRNewswire

WINNIPEG, Canada, May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Frontiers North Adventures, the premiere provider of Authentic Arctic Experiences in Canada's north, is on record pace for another successful year in the tourism industry.

Owners and operators of the Tundra Buggy(R) Adventure, Frontiers North currently offers wildlife viewing programs in Manitoba, Nunavut, and British Columbia, the most popular adventure being to experience Polar Bears in Churchill.

"Our company prides itself on creating unique itineraries and delivering amazing experiences for our guests," said John Gunter, General Manager for Frontiers North Adventures. "We are proud to have the best access in the world to wild polar bears."

2008 marks the 29th year Frontiers North has provided intimate polar bear tours on the Churchill tundra from a world-famous Tundra Buggy. These programs are geared to accommodate small groups of travelers with specific interests in experiential travel, photography, culture and adventure.

Frontiers North also offers wildlife viewing programs such as grizzly bear adventures in Port Hardy, BC, musk ox viewing and Inuit cultural programs in Elu Inlet, Nunavut, and Northern Lights tours in Churchill during the month of March.

The company is also known internationally as a leader in Canada's sustainable tourism industry, with strong company ethos generating global awareness through partnerships with organizations such as Polar Bears International (PBI), a non-profit organization dedicated to the worldwide conservation of polar bears through research and education. Groundbreaking initiatives from this partnership include The Polar Bear Cam, PBI Leadership Camp and PBI Videoconference Classroom featuring top polar bear researchers.

Frontiers North has been honored with Travel Manitoba's Sustainable Tourism Award, and with Travel Manitoba's Ecotourism Award. They also have been recognized by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada as one of the top three sustainable tourism operators in Canada. In 2007, Nunavut Tourism presented the company an Award of Excellence for its outstanding investment in tourism and sustainable development practices.
