Celltick and China Unicom Come Together for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
August 7 / LONDON / PRNewswire

LONDON, August 7 /PRNewswire/ --

- LiveScreen(TM) Media to Manage New Mobile Application in China

Celltick today announced the launch of a new and unique mobile media service over China Unicom's network, starting with the 2008 Olympic Games. Designed and implemented as a managed service through Celltick's LiveScreen(TM) Media platform, the new service provides official Olympics-related content directly from Xinhua News, the official news agency in China, including the latest news, results and anecdotes and accompanied by topical games and applications. The service will also include content relating to news, lifestyle, fun, business and entertainment.

With LiveScreen(TM) Media mobile operators can non-intrusively deliver segmented content, rich media and advertising to a virtually unlimited number of users. Unlocking a new revenue source via targeted teasers delivered to the idle screen, LiveScreen(TM) Media rapidly and easily expands the offering of operators, helping them make the most of today's burgeoning mobile marketing opportunities.

Celltick's LiveScreen(TM) Media application will be embedded on SIM cards that are being distributed in China Unicom retail outlets around Beijing. The service will be available in both Chinese and English.

Stephen Dunford, CEO of Celltick, comments: "The Olympic Games represents an enormous opportunity for the mobile industry and our managed LiveScreen(TM) Media application is ideally positioned to help China Unicom capitalise on its full potential.

"We are very pleased to be working with China Unicom with their wide reach and significant customer base, both of which will help strengthen our presence across China as we roll out further LiveScreen(TM) Media deployments."

The launch of the LiveScreen(TM) Media service in Beijing will be the first in a series of LiveScreen(TM) deployments across China.

China Unicom is an integrated telecommunications service provider with over 180 million mobile subscribers nationwide.
